Hello again to those returning, and to the first timers! The blog I am centering my post around today is called The Story Arc. From what I have seen while exploring the website, this blog is sorted into articles written by the multiple owners of the blog. Victiny and Luke will be my focus for this post with their page on Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared, this article ties in both a summary of the characters and an analysis of them as well– along with how their arc caters to the true nature of the story being told. 

Included with the text are images of the characters being talked about, this provides readers who aren’t familiar with the series and its characters a glimpse into the colorfully fabricated world of the show. The strengths that come along with this blog are the different perspectives coming from the shared interest of DHMIS from the two authors. Reading each individual’s interpretation of the same topic is extremely valuable in itself, getting multiple perspectives on the blog’s subject is kind of like a built-in interview. 

The bloggers made a very intimate environment with their post which is something I would like to try and do with my own blog. I really enjoyed the experience of reading an article that felt like I was talking with a friend and having something explained to me. I would definitely recommend this blog to my readers who are analysts of horror.

Beginner's Guide to Horror Subgenres!

  What are the other genres of horror to explore? To answer this question here is a Beginner’s Guide to Horror Subgenres! While there are so many more genres to cover besides the basic ones I am going to explain in this post, I feel like the ones I’m mentioning with this blog post are good starters for existing horror fans- or newcomers ready to dive into a genre that piques their interest. Let’s get on to the list! Slasher Films: Slasher films are probably the most common type of horror film out there, examples of this genre are well known classics like Friday the 13th, Halloween, Child’s Play, Scream, A Nightmare on Elm Street, etc. These films are put into this category by their similar plots of helpless individuals being targeted by one serial killer for varying reasons.
